Bob Hughes rejoined Trammell Crow Residential as President of Construction for the Northern California Division in 2015.

He joined Thompson | Dorfman Partners, LLC in 2006, where he managed all construction related activities. Prior to joining Thompson | Dorfman Partners, Bob was Senior Vice President of operations with Standard Pacific Homes from 2004 through 2006, where he directed the daily operations of purchasing, quality assurance, construction and warranty for the East Bay Division in Northern California. From 2002 to 2003, Bob consulted for various owners and developers in California, where he was responsible for performing due diligence, providing construction management, selecting and negotiating with general contractors, managing design consultants, creating budgets and schedules and working with clients to achieve entitlements. Bob was Vice President of Construction with Irvine Apartment Communities from 1997 through 2002, where he directed construction activities for the apartment REIT’s California Division and built 4,000 units. As Co-Founder and Vice President of Thompson Residential Company in 1996, he assisted with the entitlement of projects in Northern California. Bob formerly held senior management positions with Trammell Crow Residential and Grancorp, a subsidiary of Bay Area apartment developers Rafinelli & Nahas.

Bob attended San Jose State University, where he studied Business Administration. He is a licensed general contractor in California. Bob has obtained numerous certifications in construction management, negotiating and leadership and is certified as a LEED Accredited Professional.
